About Ronald Hall

Ronald Hall started work as a trainee Jeweller in Hobart 1991, working for Hylands Jewellery. Daryl (his boss) was a good, patient teacher. He showed Ronald the basics of repairs which then led to design, creation and manufacturing.

Ronald was lucky that Daryl’s father ( Keith ) was a master hand-engraver and diamond setter. Keith was  nearing retirement when Ronald asked him to show him how to engrave and set diamonds. Fortunately Daryl allowed him time to practice these skills and was good enough to offer much encouragement and support. After leaving Hylands Ronald stayed in Hobart and found worked in a Jewellery manufacturing factory where he gained more experience and new skills from Master Jeweller Kevin McLeod.

In 1998 Ronald decided to move from Tasmania to Melbourne.  He found work in east Doncaster working in a design and manufacturing workshop. On July 1 2000 Ronald started out on his own, creating Ronald Hall Jewellery and doing trade work for various Jewellery businesses in Melbourne. In 2008 he moved his workshop to Melbourne City Centre, in the Manchester Unity Building. After receiving much praise for the high quality of his work and an increasing private customer base from happy customers and their referrals, Ronald now openly offer a “by appointment” design service for you.
